The Asha Foundation

The Asha Foundation

The Asha Foundation was formed in 2002 by Sean and Asha Brown to provide philanthropic aid to impoverished sectors of society. The Asha Foundation [TAF] focuses in three Asian countries - Laos, Philippines and Thailand. In these countries TAF supports locally established educational and community development institutions and programs with proven track records.

In each country TAF address three major areas of concern:

Education

TAF sponsored projects provide education to the orphaned or poor who otherwise would not have this opportunity.

Income opportunities

TAF sponsored projects run micro-financing programs for the rural poor. TAF also enables local partners to inspire and support small local enterprises such as weaving and clothes production engaging village women and single mothers or a village bakery in a popular tourist destinations or a furniture factory to generate income for social projects. TAF support has helped to create numerous micro-businesses and thousands of jobs.

Food and Housing

TAF helps to provide food for the staff, teachers, factory workers and nearly 1,000 students attending the schools and projects we support. TAF support also develops and upgrades accommodation for the children, employees, volunteers and single mothers in many of these projects.
